It's not a roller mill, it's a kernal processor on a chopper, and since we turned it off the earlage in the bunker and the feed bunk is perfect.

-sorry I thought roller mill was same as kp -we run a kp and after chopping close to 1 million bushel of earcorn know that if you do not pay attention to the kp you end up with what you describe-No (kp)roller mill chopping earlage will never be as good as with a kp-if you set the kp properly-usually it involves knowing when to set your roll differential-the quality of your rolls-number of knives and speed of your feed rolls then begs the question what is perfect earlage?

A kp is a roller mill-more often called a kp in a chopper-but its still a roller mill that can do a lot of good-but not having a kp(roller mill) set right creates just what you described-Did you try adjusting the kp or just decide it was not worth trying to adjust it?\

Would be very poor advice to tell someone not to use the roller mill(kp) in my thoughts. Are feed test's show just the opposite
