Google osunrc2013. Download program and instructions. Is a ration spreadsheet that has been very accurate in predicting adg if correct criteria is entered. Just experiment with various mixes until get protein and energy you want. It will also tell you which minerals are deficient and which are excessive. Have had good results feeding 50/50 cg/sh mix with free choice hay and free choice high calcium mineral. Have also backgrounded fresh weaned calves on 45% cg, 45 sh & 10% cottonseed hulls for roughage. In 45 days calves avg 3.5lb/day. Been using Purina BVT mineral with bovatec. It is high calcium which is needed for most cg/sh mixes. Over numerous years have had a couple of brainers but not enough to concern me. Had quite a few more when used ddg’s.

Just use the spreadsheet to come up with ration that fits your cattle, feed resources and adg goals.
