I would have to say that the TCM ( Terrain Compensation Module) inside the receiver is failing, the iTC is being phased out so I wouldn't consider repairing it, you will spend more than it is worth,  there should be plenty of SF3000's traded in for SF6000's that you should be able to find one at your dealer.
