North Central IN | Too late for rye ‘here.’ I had some seeded mid September, and still don’t have enough growth to run my cows on this winter. Will make good grazing in the spring tho. Have seeded it in late October, and done well in the spring. It greens up before the grass.
You will need hay. Maybe a smaller round bale a week. I would give them 2-3 five gallon buckets of corn also. Will slow the hay consumption.
