Russ, first let me say I love your pictures. I am an east cost guy...and we have nothing like your operation here. Which brings me to my question...you rotate bulls at a young age it seems to me...is that because your country is so challenging? Altitude...rough ground...lots to cover? Do you find that bulls older than 4 really break down? Thanks for the info...and thanks again for the pictures!
Problem I see is when those bulls get that old they get lazy, don't breed. When you gather them up in September and those big older bulls come in fat, you know they just laid around in the shade and didn't breed. The young bulls will come in skinny and broke down. They did your breeding. Our country is tough on bulls, lucky to make 4 years. I lost 3hd. of 4 year olds to death, 2 hd. of 2 year olds broke their tools. One expensive 2 year old broke a leg. It adds up in a real hurry. |
