Greencastle, Pa. | Ryan,Once you start raising "heavy" hens you will never want to go back to heavy toms ever. Take my word for it. When we raised heavy toms in the early 2000's it was out at 19 weeks and yes we would adv.50lbs. on most flocks. heavy hens were a joy to raise. We were on a 13 week set for poults and a 16-17 week out the door, 24-26lb. As a long time grower I will tell you this---MANAGE your flocks well, stay in the top 10% of growers and the Co. WILL stay off your back. Of all the grower meetings I have ever attended, the top 3rd. of growers was almost ALWAYS the same ones. The middle one's the same and so on. You slip and they will be on you. It's all about MONEY. Every grower that"I" have ever heard "Bitch" "Bitch" "Bitch" were in the bottom 3rd. of the grower mix. "Kingbaby" PS as a side note "LET THE BIRDS" tell you how they feel or what they need. It"s not about you,it"s about them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
