Morris, IL
20k flat bin isn’t even close to a 7k hopper. 12500 flat and 7500 hopper were apples to apples when we built. Another 2500 or so in the cone for the hassle is not worth it. I was on the fence till this thread and am so very happy went hopper bin. https://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=369618&mid=292...

Now if you need to dry 500k bushels a year or in near future that different story but way they are marking a much smaller hopper work I don’t think so.

Prior to building our dryer setup I had whole different idea how it would all work and the ideal setup then I do now with 5 years under my belt. Size wet bin to dryer for 16-24 hours of running in your ideal harvest moisture. In ideal world dryer would run every day 18-24 hours to keep everything dry the combine can harvest. Start dryer on first load of morning and let it run till it runs out.
