Subject: RE: new wet corn holding bin

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
We have a 21 foot 5,000 bu. bin with a poured cement cone "pit" in the ground. The cone holds about 2000 bu. It was built in the early 80's when cement was cheap.

We have a six inch tile going under the very bottom of the cone covered in pea rock with several small four inch tile running from the surface down into the pea rock spaced around the cone. We have never had a water problem.

When rain is in the forecast we'll panic and fill the original 2,000 bu. cone bottom wet bin. It causes a little extra work but we do get another couple hours of drying in on a rainy day. ;)
