If your cows are in two groups on different sides of the road just put one bull in each group and not risk them fighting. Have put many unequal age bulls together and 75% of the time it works but when it doesn't you can have an injured bull and wrecked fences. Even when it "works" there is a couple days of fighting. I only did it because I didn't want a bull separate by himself all winter.
