West Central Iowa | I had a cow, that along with getting thin, had the same symptom under the jaw. In my scenario, we treated for hardware. On my animal, that "pocket" felt like jelly and even though I forget the official word the vet used, it had to do with stress on the heart and the body's inability to move blood to and from the head efficiently, resulting in what your picture shows. Your scenario could be different, but that is what we did here. Our treatment was penicillin and a magnet. Her "pocket" under the jaw has since resolved and we will see how she responds in regards to weight gain. | |
