Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

I assume you are using these types of hinges.

As Garvo mentioned, once you get them adjust " to swing level" then drill a hole and add bolts thru the center of hinge and vertical 2" gate pipe. (this picture already shows a hole there, in the hinge)

Before drill any holes, thru the wood in gate post, we would try and use a "plumb bob" to get vertical as best we could. (Dad probably has over 30 Sioux gates)

The plumb bob, helps remove any slight problems with the wood post being slightly "out of vertical" {= sometimes your upper hole is to one side of post and lower hole is towards other side}
