Subject: RE: Russ, a question on your seeding

There is still some natives, but this is very low precipitation area, punk ground. Where I'm unloading drills you can barely see some green plants. That is Serbian Wheatgrass I hand seeded when I fed some cows hay there in a bad winter in around 2003' time frame. Crested for a overall is about as good as it gets here. Some Tall wheat grass, cows don't like it as well, however it is great cover for calving.

My opinion is Crested Wheatgrass and Canadian Thistles should be considered natives as long as they have been here. I tell these new land managers for government those two species have been here on the ground in the west three times as long as they have been alive.
