Sac & Story county IA | That is where most of mine has come from. Salvage yard that gets the bid of an old defense plant. But a lot of the machines are real oddballs. Not of much use in repair work. Some of the things I have gotten, one broken part, look for awhile, then take back to salvage. A lot of times, salvage yard has to promise stuff won't go out whole. I have seen load of wire welders unloaded with excavator. That pretty well takes care of them.
Here is something that I would be interested in if I didn't have one like it. Be sure to get a price from rigger to set on trailer before you bid. Sometimes they are decent and sometimes pure crazy.

Sell 3 of those heads and still have a big drill.
I bet I am the only Iowa farmer to have my semi inside the walls of Ft Leavenworth prison to pick up $45 metal shear.
