midatlantic | Looks great. The only place it won't survive will be where it gets to thick and smothers itself out. 2 years ago mine got thick and I clipped it in the fall. I got 2 ton of haylage to the acre in the fall. Came back in the spring and made 13 ton at boot stage. It is important in our area not to clip too close in the fall or it will kill it. We like to leave a 4 inch stubble in the fall. If it is annual ryegrass it loves nitrogen. I use 80 to 100 lbs at greenup in the spring. Makes great feed. | |
