If you are a corn whore like myself, you might want to stay on a 97 platform. Clean grain elevator is larger on the 97's vs the 96. Seems easier to get grain in the cleaning fan also on the 96, but you can put some inserts in to take care of that problem.

I can't remember where exactly, but IIRC 3000-3500 BPH was about max
I am not sure with an 8 row head you could get ahead of the smaller elevator, but you can with a 12........
