It can. it depends on what the reason is for your pain. It definitely helps with SI issues. It can help with issues revolving around discs that are compressed more than normal.
Find someone that has one and ask to try it out. People with back issues that have found relief with inversion tables will be very helpful, as they understand.
You can find them on Craigslist, you do not have to buy new.
