ECIL | I have a '96 with a manual tranny. Strong puller, but part of that is due to it being a manual. The ratio for first in an automatic is very close to second in a manual. I bought mine new and chose the manual with that being one of the reasons. Back then the automatics couldn't really stand up to the torque of the V-10. I haven't checked mileage in a few years, but last time I did I got 13 mpg highway at 70 mph. I probably get closer to 6 mpg pulling wagons, depends if I'm on the road or pulling out of a field.
I'd check to see if the automatic has been worked on or replaced with a stronger one. The automatic will be the weak spot. The engine will last a long time. | |
