85 day and under corn. Northern guys what worked this year?

Had a 79 day pioneer that was not good at all.. Right across the road same ground same plant date we had 3110 dekalb that was 20 bushel better than pioneer. Our dekalb was decent considering the year. Had a 83 day Latham corn, in the same area and it did roughly the same as the dekalb. Also had some Latham in couple areas where they received more rain showers this summer and yeilds were 92-110bpa. Low ground in the Latham and dekalb was 190-240bpa so the ingredients where there just missed the main one.
