I’ve found it not really cost effective to insure my cows. I’d have to lose over 3% each year in a single occurrence to make it pay. Between the premium and deductible losing one here or there won’t pay back with $1000 deductible for each occurrence. So I take my losses on one or Two a year and replace them with saved premiums. Only pay on natural occurrence too such as lightning. Just my two cents.

I do insure bulls as higher value per animal pays back better with each one.
