Schochoh Ky | Sorry guys , sometimes your thoughts don't come through as fully intended. My comment on crop insurance was not that you can't loose money. Just not as much as in the 1980s. The crop insurance will keep these guys solvent for several years , while they eat up their equity. I was a kid in the late 70s and remember guys belling up in a single year. If they had crop insurance and a locked mortgage rate , most of our neighbors would still be farming. Couple these things with csp payment and an equip payment and a crp payment and farm program payment and you see , land and rent are not going down much anytime soon.Just my thoughts and I can change my mind if the stock market crashes. | |
