| Sometimes you have no other choice but to cut ruts. I have seen the guys that waited for the ground to dry enough to avoid ruts then end up harvesting their crops in Jan. Had a neighbor years back that lost 150 acres of beans because he didn't want to cut ruts. before the ground froze up enough to hold the combine up we had a couple feet of snow on the beans. Was late March before the snow all melted away & beans were flat & rotted.
IMO, this time of year you get the crops out then worry about ruts later. | |
