We have a few in our bottom that can get you in trouble with crusting before planting. A neighbor a few years ago leveled off his ground and it rained and sealed it over. It didn't dry out underneath, so he had to wait a few extra days before he could get in to plant. That said I much rather plant into a stale bed than fresh field cultivated. Lot eaiser to see the mark and set rowcleaners etc. We have a couple of fields that if the stars align and everything works out we like to hit in the fall and not touch in the spring.
