Central Kansas
I could see it come up a little. Problem is corn is cheap, and the availability of wet distillers grains. I am making a pretty cheap ration with crabgrass hay, wdg, corn stalks, and corn. Now there is only so much WDG available but don't forget the Lyons plant will be running at 35% more capacity sometime around Christmas. Honestly for what WDG's are being bought for, grinding hay should be worth around $75 delivered. But I haven't priced any hay for a while. According to the high plains it's already bringing more than that. But some places are sitting on stalk piles of wet feed already, such as, corn silage. So you can only add so much moisture to a ration and need the dry alfalfa for the protein still and keep the dry matter right. So I guess all I did was confuse everyone and argue both sides for the pricing of alfalfa.
