| We run a lot of public lands, so on our heavily traveled roads we hang metal swinging gates if we don't have cattle guards there. We then hang up a please close gate sign with thanks on it. You need to make it easy for them to shut gates. For the most part public will respect you if you do that. I like wire gates, but the public doesn't so you need to cater to them. A little honey goes a long ways. Just the fact you put please and thank you on the gate sign helps the most. However if it is a county right of way you just need to put up a cattle guard and be done with it. It will make your life a lot easier. | |
