For a lick tank liquid, controlling intake is important to control costs. Unless they are out on corn stalks, cattle will not need more than a pound or pound and a half of a 40% lick tank liquid. Product formulation is far more important for controlling intakes than tank design. If intakes are over 3 pounds, and basic nutrition is covered (i.e. mineral, water, and plenty of forage is available), you've got a poorly formulated liquid. |
