Central Texas
Not sure about good 12 volt box. At home place have 120v 6 joule Zareba box with around 4 miles of hot wire and it does a good job. On a couple of lease places have cross fenced using Parmak 12v solar boxes. Probably no more than a mile of fence on these and they do fine for that. Not sure how much more wire they would handle. If need more fence than the Parmak would handle, would probably get a 3 joule Gallagher solar or a Kencove 3 joule 110v/12v combo and add a solar panel to keep charged. Many years ago had some 12v Parmaks that we used for leased wheat pasture and they did the job although never had to worry about grass/weed fence load in winter. For those just used old irrigation motor batteries and kept extras on trickle charger to rotate as needed.
