Columbia City, Indiana | Do you know the calves didn’t suck beyond any shadow of a doubt? Usually when I have a calf I think doesn’t have the instinct to suck, it’s because his belly is full and he wants to be left alone for a nap. I do this about every other year it seems. I can usually tell when they’ve sucked, (wet hair on udder, slick teats) but sometimes can’t tell. Try sticking your finger in his mouth, if it’s warm, he’s sucked. | |
