all over Iowa | I'm a huge fan of inoculant on silages, but I prefer buffered acids on hay (even balage). Inoculant needs quite a bit of moisture to properly rehydrate and to become fully active. I've also seen more inoculant loss on the bales as it bounces off and lands on the ground while the acid penetrates the bale. Buffered acid works instantly and you can successfully use a lower rate on bales that are wrapped tight. |
