They should work fine. Use similar gauge wheels in either direction.
I'm going to wonder why you don't want to use the 3 point model though? No larger than that chisel is a 3 point version sure is handier and easier to hook up.
I actually just changed a 16' 5500 to a mounted setup, from a pull type.
