South Central Nebraska | After I posted this thread on Machinery Talk I realized I should have posted it here. Sorry for the double post.
Is anyone who is using a seed vac for their bulk seed corn worried about having seed applied insecticides blowing in your face or is it not to big of a problem? My seed dealer says that the only way you can get NK seed is with a low rate of Cruiser. It seems that is the way the industry is going whether we want the extra treatment or not.
I was wondering if you could add a 3ft or so piece of pvc pipe or ductwork pipe to the cyclone to help direct it away from the person holding the cyclone.
My other thought is there some type of product that you could apply as a liquid through the inoculators to help keep the dust down without causing problems with the planter.
For those of you using a seed tender with an auger going into planter boxes, do you have a problem with the dust?
I guess my main question is, how do you guys deal with insecticide exposure with bulk seed corn?
Thanks, Brian | |
