The term that one used tie site uses is "relay", had to search the site for the definition. These ties are graded as being good enough to reuse or in their terms "relay". They had several other grades indicating the relative quality stopping short of junk. One site advertises in a regional car and truck trader and sells in trailer lots of 248 ties.
