In '12 all we heard about how great the new genetics handled the "drought" in northern Iowa with yield reports in the 180s and at the same time they ignored the fact that those same hybrids were being risked under in Missouri and other areas.
That was likely referring to NE Iowa. The northeast 3 counties in Iowa got periodic rains starting in July, and had a few inches by the end of August. Still below average rainfall by a long shot, but enough to lower the stress compared to the rest of the state. |
