land will always appreciate, a house not so much, but that is just me. Land doesn't always appreciate, and neither do houses. But a person would have done just fine snagging up bank foreclosed houses in '09. That probably would have done even better than buying land in the same timeframe and renting out and reselling today. House rental rates are 3-4 times the paltry returns land offers, and havnt retreated in value the last 3 years like land has in most places. That game isn't for me, but for those that do, do well at it. Very well indeed. And my house has the intrinsic value that I get to live in it. Couldn't get my wife to live in the field drive culvert. She just wouldn't have anything to do with it. Pretty sure there will be more farms for sale in the future to replace the one I sold. |
