| In irrigated Nebraska, where water isn't the limiting resource, corn yields used to struggle to get much past 200. Now 250+ isn't uncommon.
With beans, pushing much past 60 was usually the limit just a few years ago. Now 75+ is getting common and in the 80's isn't rare.
Balanced fertility may deserve part of the credit, but my opinion is that newer varieties just have more potential. | |
