Subject: RE: Featherfarmer question

NW Indiana
So to cover your variable cost as you suggest, say your aph is 170 that means your break even is 2.06/bu. How many opportunities has there been to buy the board at that? Now lets go with what I am pointing out and add the $200/ac rent, $50/ac machinery(I could come up with more) that adds another $1.47 to the break even. So my true breakeven on that farm is $3.53/bu. If I bought the board at 3.53(which there hasn't been an opportunity to buy the next crop at that in years) and say I sold it at 4.03. I made money correct? .50 cents times 170 is $85/ac. Oh wait were am I getting the $250/ac to cover my fixed cost?
