Think about what you just said. There is no way the fringe has a cost advantage. You can not produce a bushel for less on lower quality ground than you can on higher quality ground. It takes less cost for seed, nitrogen, dry fertilizer etc on good dirt per bushel produced. Land prices will adjust accordingly everywhere. The good dirt isn't what will go idle first.
