Mid Michigan | Badgerfan I think you have it right. My cat looks just like her. She's an outdoor cat that I lock in the pole barn every day before work. One day she got left out and got in a fight and got bit on the back and had an absess just like that on her back. The tech at the vets office checked her out and said I could get antibiotics I could give her for a week for $25 or she could give her a shot right then that would do the same thing quicker for $60. I opted for the shot right then. The swelling went away within a week and she's been fine ever since.
