Is it necessary to grease through the zerks on the bottom of the gear boxes or can it be done through the plug on top. Thought about putting a few squirts through the zerks then putting the rest through the plugs. Its a JD 443.

If you're going underneath anyway, you might as well do it correctly and put it all through the zerks?
