Is it necessary to grease through the zerks on the bottom of the gear boxes or can it be done through the plug on top. Thought about putting a few squirts through the zerks then putting the rest through the plugs. Its a JD 443.

Remove top plug, pump grease into the zerk until grease starts coming out the top hole. That's how I always did it.
