Why the constant sarcasm.  If the USDA is wrong it will be proven out.  

Many on here complained about the lack of rain but with cooler temps through grain fill a plant doesn't need as much moisture.  You shun those with differing opinions but I've seen this 3 times in the past 10 years where 2 of the 3 times we personally raised 150 bu farm avg on 1" of rain in July and 1" of rain in August but the temps stayed below 90.  The other time was still 130.  This is on shallow soils in Eastern KS.  

What is missing is the consistency of good yields but harvest is really just getting started.
