Subject: RE: Ears Per Acre

NW Indiana
Actually I have a great corn crop. Beans were great until 3 weeks ago. I was still calling BS before that. You are aware 49.9 is the second largest bean crop ever by almost 2 bushels aren't you? With by far the most acres of which many were added in below trend areas? I don't feel the corn crop is overstated by that much but still believe 165-167 should catch it. By know means do I think this is the second largest bean crop(by yield). 2014, 2015 and 2016 all had tremendous rainfall from the middle of August until the middle of September across a huge portion of the grainbelt, that is not the case in 2017. If we are at 49.9 currently that means trend is 3-4 bushels too low.

Edit to add: And they just increased trend this year by almost double of what is normal to get to 48. Trend should have been 47.4 or so
