North Central Illinois | Actually seeing a little of that here as well. Many beans are just maturing because it is time. There are a lot of fields that are turning uniformly over the whole field. The latest planted beans that are still grass green are showing signs of running out of gas on the hills and light ground. Not a good finish for any of the beans. The early beans look fantastic but as is always the case with beans you can't tell much by looks. Could the bean yield be a bigger story this fall than the corn? I don't know. A 45 bu bean number with have some pretty serious implications for the markets but SA will cover a lot of that shortfall. It would sure make things interesting. We will know a lot more in two or three weeks. We will have beans being harvested around here in a week to ten days. | |
