North Central Kansas | The reason that milo is higher is the price was set when milo was being exported instead of corn and the price ran up.
There will be a lot of disappointed people this fall here. The county I live in went 91.2% ARC-CO wheat, and 79.8% ARC-CO grain sorghum. I can remember going to the extension meeting and listening to the presenters discuss the program. The guy asked the question who thinks wheat is ever going to go below $5. Nobody raised their hand. Their explanation of the program was that it was better to grab the first year payment in ARC-Co because it was there and the chances of a payment in the future years was uncertain.
They failed to discuss the part about PLC being basically a Put that the strike price was locked for 5 years. PLC was not not tied to yield either. | |
