This makes the 4th week in a row that Menards is having their 11% reabte sale on everything going on. Not complaining but I've noticed more of their 11% discounts this year then ever before. Makes you think you shouldn't buy anything from them unless they have a sale going on. I wonder how many people don't mail in their rebate forms? I always do.
I don't have any financial numbers but by just looking at the parking lots Menards locally does more business then Home Depot and Lowes combined. I personally do very little business with Lowes and even less with Home Depot.
I always send them in, but it gets really annoying when you only spend $10-20 for the dates of the purchases. Hardly covers the cost of the stamp. I wish they could just give you the discount up front.
Locally, I believe Menards does better (lumber/building materials) than Home Depot/Lowes because you can drive into their lumber yard and load things. Home Depot/Lowes probably do better with appliances and tools, blinds, etc. My experience is people buying at Lowes/Home Depot, are probably people who have built new houses and are looking for small DIY upgrades like lights, blinds, appliances, tools....where the Menards crowd tends to draw more contractors and people taking on larger projects.... |
