Why should farmers be the only ones with these safety nets?
Spare me the cheap food, corporate farm, blah, blah, blah. Land will always be farmed by someone. Bonanza farms came and went.

Why should grain corn and soybean growers be the ones with safety nets???

Your obviously missing the big picture......would you prefer the government have no idea what's planted where, no control over all wetlands and erodible soil, and huge food price spike increases just like we've seen with gasoline prices? You have no idea how cheap you eat. If ag was truly a free market than only a few corporations would control the nations food supply from the ground up. The labor laws and unions would put an incredible price increase to where 50% or more of your income would go for food just like the rest of the world.
