Eastern North Carolina | I had one with a five horse Briggs, two stage pump, and a 4"x36" cylinder. Think it was rated at 21 ton. Never did put anything in it that it didn't split, never would kill the engine, it would pull it down but it kept pushing. The two stage pump was what made it the real deal.
My splitting wedge was shaped like a wide railroad spike. Yours would probably work a little better if your wedge was more narrow up front then flare out at the rear.
