those are 45 or 4786"s .the 47 was the same ih v-8 engine but with a little more fuel . the 4366/86 had a dt 466 set at about 200 h.p. . correct the tractors were steiger built units with IH engiines and diffs .the other 4wds are IH 2+2 tractors , most common was 3588 at 150 pto h.p. . the 4166/86 was a straight frame tractor with steerable axles ,it started out as a 4100 with i think a IH dt 407 engine at about 140 h.p. ,the later 4156,4166 and 4186 were very simular . im pretty sure the 4186 had a dt 466 @150 .neat pictures ,being a red guy id love to have an old v-8 IH 4 wheeler ,but the engine parts for the v-8 are scarce and pricey. some have been repowered with cummins 855"s and L10/M11 engines.
Dont mean to contradict ya but the 4100/4156 had a dt 429, 4166/4186 had the dt 436. |
