Subject: John Deere VS Case IH Field Cultivators and Attachments

Looking at updating field cultivators on the farm. We got quotes from both Deere (2230) and Case IH (255) on their new models with floating hitches and setups similar too. The prices are real similar actually. So we already have Case IH 200 with a 4 bar harrow and we pull a coil packer behind. I really like the seedbed that leaves behind and the option of unhooking it if it's a little wet. But my brothers kind of want to switch to one unit rig. A 3 bar harrow with a crumbler with hydraulic lift. Will that add a lot of weight? Just wanted to know what your thoughts are on the JD field cultivators and Case IH field cultivators good and bad of each and also thoughts on the one machine with crumbler over pulling the coil packer behind. Thanks!
