| You are partially wrong. Cool weather is good for pollination and kernel retention. Cool September doesn't fill kernels and bean to their full potential. It takes usda longer to admit to lighter kernels and smaller beans. That is why we had such phenomenal test weight and kernel size the last few years. Test weight averages in my area durin 2004,2009 etc where below 56 and averaged 54. Starchs are just a small part of the puzzle. | |
