Subject: RE: Land Cost

That same land that brought 2500.00 in 1981 brought $900.00 an acre in 1985 An corn was $2.10 a bushel. Thats the 1980s farm crisis we here about. Off course interest rates were 15%. Should have bought everything in sight. Land was sitting on the market forever at that price back then. Had a realtor guy stop by twice trying to get us to buy. Now that land today would bring $8,000 plus easy today. People were running scared at that time. Banks were closing. Farm bankruptcies were at a all time high. 50 farm sales a month. Now I dont see us going back to those dark days again but it just goes to show how things can change fast. I dont care what anybody says a million dollars is a lot off money. Heck I still think $100,000 is alot off money. I remeber when pickups cost $10,000 brand new. My Dad though the world was coming to an end. Who can afford that.
